16-25 PROGRAMME

FUNdamentals 16-25 is a free 12-week exercise programme for young people aged 16-25 with learning difficulties. 

Inclusive, supportive sessions designed to build confidence, routine and enjoyment of movement. 

What is FUNdamentals 16-25?

FUNdamentals 16-25 is  a free, 12-week programme offering weekly exercises designed to help young people build confidence, routine and a positive relationship with physical activity.

Each week offers two session options:

A FUNdamentals multisport session

 Following our FUNdamentals DNA - 

   

     fun, inclusive, supportive environment

     focused on building movement skills           through a range of activities.

A chair-based exercise (Sit Strong) session

Following our Sit Strong principles:

    supportive, accessible

    focused on building mobility, strength        and confidence through movement.

Participants sign up for the full 12 weeks so they can experience real consistency, progress and routine, not just one-off sessions. They can choose to attend one session or both, depending on their interests, needs and confidence. 

Who's it for?

Our programme is for young people aged 16-25 with learning disabilities who want to move more, build confidence and enjoy being active in a supportive and welcoming environment.​​

We know that feeling comfortable and supported makes a huge difference. That's why we actively encourage support workers and family members to get involved.

 

By joining the sessions, supporters can help young people feel more confident, stay engaged and enjoy the experience together. 

This shared approach helps to:

  • Build stronger relationships and trust

  • Boost confidence and motivation

  • Create positive, active experiences that continue outside the sessions

Why 12 weeks?

Twelve weeks gives participants the time and space to feel comfortable, build confidence and develop positive movement habits - at their own pace.

To mark progress and recognise achievements, celebration events are built into the programme - giving participants the chance to celebrate their wins, reflect on their journey and feel proud of the positive changes they've made. ​
